Primary Round-up - March 2026

In our Primary Round-up for March, we look at embedding multiplicative understanding in KS2. Also this month:

  • Teaching maths in Year 6 - the NCETM’s Debbie Morgan speaks to trust maths lead Suzanne Mathews about how to prioritise and secure learning, develop fluency, and ensure pupils are ready for SATs and secondary school
  • Equity in maths provision across a trust - a trust with schools in challenging contexts across Greater Manchester shares how it is improving maths outcomes with support from its Maths Hub
  • The School Development Lead Programme - Caroline Small shares her experience of the programme, and how it is developing her leadership across her school and trust.
  • A new pathway for teacher training - a new teacher degree apprenticeship (TDA) route into teaching, allowing trainees to earn a salary while completing their degree and training in the classroom.

The NCETM Primary Round-up is emailed to subscribers: if you didn’t get yours, or if you have new colleagues, subscribe here, or contact us if you have any difficulties.
